New York just announced a 1,000 percentage increase in solar power in six years, with another 1.1 GW in the pipeline and a proposed groundbreaking energy storage deployment target of 1.5 GW by 2025. Massachusetts is expected to implement its SMART program by March 31 which will enable the state to more than double its solar capacity from 1,5 GW to 3.2 GW. And New Jersey now has plans to increase the state’s renewable portfolio standard (RPS) and the solar carve-out from the current 2.5% to 4.3% next year and eventually to 5.1%.
